My name is Diana, and I am the founder of Lex Sugar Haus, formerly known as Casita de Cake. I’m a proud Latina, a mother of two, and a self-taught baker with a passion for creating desserts; not only beautiful but also delicious! I was born and raised in New York with Salvadorean roots, later moved to Washington, D.C. as a teenager to begin a new chapter in life, and eventually found my home in the Bluegrass State of Kentucky.
For many years, I worked behind a desk and in the medical field, but I felt a strong pull toward something more fulfilling. What began as a love for baking as a child eventually turned into the passion behind what I do today; an art that requires patience, creativity, and constant learning. While talent can be a gift, I believe it’s dedication and practice that truly bring it to life. In 2024, I started this business from home with a big idea and a lot to learn and now operating as a wedding vendor; doing custom cakes, cupcakes and treats, in a private cake studio.
Today, I balance caring for my family while pouring my heart into a business I genuinely love. I continuously strive to grow, improve, and refine my craft with every order. With recipes made from scratch, using thoughtfully curated ingredients and handcrafted desserts with attention to detail, you will absolutely fall in love with Lex sugar Haus.
As someone who has lived with pre-diabetes for nearly 16 years, I’ve developed recipes that are not overly sweet, yet still rich, flavorful, and satisfying; cakes designed to be enjoyed without overwhelming the palate.
